Bend Bench is a set of calculators for conduit bending and everyday electrical math on iPhone. This policy describes how the app handles information. In short: the app works entirely on your iPhone, and Christopher Thomas receives no data from it.

What is stored on my iPhone?

Bend Bench keeps three kinds of information in its private storage on the device.

  1. Preferences. The unit system (Imperial or Metric), the rounding step, the default voltage drop limit, the appearance, the haptic feedback switch, the bender selected for Stub-Up and Back-to-Back, and a number that records which version of the reference notice you accepted.
  2. Calculations you save. When you tap Save, the app stores the calculator used, the unit system, the values you entered, the results shown, the optional label you type (for example "Panel 3 A"), the time of saving and whether the entry is pinned. Up to 200 unpinned calculations are kept; saving beyond that removes the oldest unpinned one. Pinned entries stay until you delete them.
  3. Bender presets you create. Name, conduit type, size, take-up and, if you enter it, the center-line radius.

Values you type into a calculator without tapping Save exist only while that calculator is open. They are not written to storage.

On first launch the app checks the region set in iOS once, only to start in Imperial units in the United States and Canada and in Metric units elsewhere. The region itself is neither stored nor sent.

If the file of saved calculations ever becomes unreadable, the app renames it and leaves it in the same private storage rather than erasing it, then starts a fresh history. That renamed file is removed together with the app.

None of this is visible to Christopher Thomas.

Does anything leave my iPhone?

Not on its own. Bend Bench has no server, no account and no code that opens a network connection. Information leaves the device only when you decide to move it:

Analytics, advertising and third parties

Bend Bench contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, social-media or other third-party SDKs. It does not read the advertising identifier, does not build profiles and does not follow your activity across other companies' apps or websites, which is why iOS never shows a tracking prompt for it. Christopher Thomas does not sell, rent or share personal information; the app never provides any.

Permissions

The app does not ask for access to your location, camera, microphone, photos, contacts, calendars, Bluetooth, health data or notifications.

What Apple shares with the developer

Every App Store developer can see summary figures in App Store Connect, such as download counts by country, ratings and reviews. If you have turned on Share With App Developers (iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), Apple may also pass on crash logs and usage figures for Bend Bench with personal identifiers removed. Christopher Thomas reads them solely to repair faults in the app. The switch belongs to iOS, and you can turn it off there at any time.

Contacting the developer

If you write to jacob.baker8466@gmail.com, Christopher Thomas receives your email address, any name your mail app adds, and the content of your message together with anything you attach, such as a shared calculation or a screenshot. This is used to reply to you, never for marketing, and it is not passed on to anyone. Correspondence is deleted once your question is settled, and you may ask for earlier deletion at any time.

For people in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the legal basis for handling such emails is the legitimate interest in answering a message you chose to send.

Deleting your information

Christopher Thomas keeps no copy of this information, so no request to the developer is needed, except for emails (see above).

Children

Bend Bench is a work tool for a general audience and is not directed at children. It gathers no personal information from any user, whatever their age, so nothing about a child reaches the developer either. The app has no chat, no profiles and no way for users to contact one another.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, and similar laws of other US states give you rights to know about, access, correct, delete or port the personal information a business holds about you, to object to or restrict some uses of it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing.

Because Bend Bench sends nothing to Christopher Thomas, there is no app data on the developer's side to which these rights could apply; your calculations stay under your control on your iPhone. Personal information is not sold, not shared and not used for targeted advertising. If you have emailed the developer, you may exercise any of these rights over that correspondence at jacob.baker8466@gmail.com, and doing so will not change how you are treated. In the EEA and the UK you may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

Security

Everything the app stores stays inside its sandbox on your iPhone, kept apart from other apps by iOS and covered by the encryption iOS applies to the device's storage. Setting a device passcode strengthens that protection.

Changes to this policy

Any change will be published on this page with a new effective date. If a future version of Bend Bench were to start collecting information of any kind, this page and the app's privacy details on the App Store would be updated before that version becomes available.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States. This does not limit any mandatory protection you have under the law of the place where you live.
